Help with Server Ping & Storage Monitor

Find setup checks, troubleshooting steps, licensing notes, and contact support without exposing an email address to spam bots.

Support requests are normally answered within 3 business days.

Before contacting support

Many monitoring issues are caused by network access, firewall rules, NAS permissions, or unavailable storage paths.

Check Windows support

  • Windows 10 64-bit 22H2 or later
  • Windows 11 64-bit 23H2 or later

Check network access

  • Device is powered on
  • Device is reachable from this PC
  • Firewall allows ping or required access

Check storage paths

  • NAS/share opens in Windows Explorer
  • Your user has permission
  • The path is available outside the app

What to include in your message

Including the right details helps support understand your setup faster.

Basic details

  • App version
  • Windows version
  • Free, trial, or Pro license mode
  • Device type selected in the app
  • Whether the issue happens for one host or all hosts

Helpful evidence

  • Screenshots of the problem
  • Exact error message shown by the app
  • Example host name, IP, or storage path format
  • Whether the same path opens in Windows Explorer
  • Any recent firewall, NAS, router, or permission changes

Common questions

Why does ping fail even though the device is on?

The device or firewall may block ICMP/ping requests. Some routers, NAS devices, servers, or Windows PCs can be reachable in other ways while still refusing ping.

Why does a storage path fail in the app?

The storage path may be offline, typed incorrectly, unavailable from Windows, blocked by permissions, or only reachable under a different Windows user/session. First confirm the same path opens outside the app.

Why does Linux or Proxmox disk health fail?

Linux and Proxmox checks require SSH access and smartmontools installed on the monitored host. On Debian, Ubuntu, or Proxmox, install it with: sudo apt update && sudo apt install smartmontools.

Does the app support every NAS?

No. Not every NAS brand, model, firmware version, or storage controller is supported. Other devices may work, but behavior depends on vendor support, permissions, firmware, SNMP output, SSH configuration, and available disk health data.

What happens after the 7-day Pro trial?

The app automatically returns to Free mode unless a Pro license is activated. Free mode supports up to 5 hosts, ping and latency checks only. Storage checks and sound alerts are disabled in Free mode.

Do I need a machine ID for Pro?

No. Pro Personal uses a signed offline license file. No machine ID is required.

Can I use Pro on more than one PC?

Yes. Pro Personal may be used on unlimited PCs owned or controlled by the license holder.

Is Pro a subscription?

No. Pro Personal is a one-time purchase. It includes updates and fixes for version 1.x. Future major versions may require a paid upgrade.

Refund and support note: Refunds are not normally provided for unsupported systems, incorrect configuration, firewall or network issues, missing NAS permissions, unavailable devices, or storage paths that are not reachable outside the software. Please use the 7-day Pro trial to test your real setup before buying.
