Privacy Policy

Overview

This Privacy Policy applies to Server Ping & Storage Monitor (the "Software"), whether it is installed from the PCDilis Software website or from the Microsoft Store, to the product pages on the PCDilis Software website, to support communications, and to purchases made through the official checkout providers.

Server Ping & Storage Monitor is a local Windows desktop app for monitoring your own servers, NAS devices, PCs, routers, and storage.

Information stored locally by the app

To monitor the hosts and devices you configure, the app stores the following on your PC, in your Windows user profile (%APPDATA%\server_nas_monitor):

• hostnames or IP addresses, device names or labels you enter, device and storage types, ports, and user names for device connections;
• monitoring intervals, alert and sound settings, and display preferences;
• SSH host keys of the devices you connect to (to detect a changed or impersonated device);
• trial status and license activation status (see below);
• application logs (status changes, errors, and startup diagnostics).

None of this information is sent to PCDilis Software or to any third party by the app. You decide whether to share logs or screenshots when you contact support.

Device passwords and credentials

Some storage checks (for example Synology, Proxmox, or older Buffalo devices) require a password. Passwords are stored in the Windows Credential Manager of your Windows account, not in the app's configuration file. They are used only for direct connections from your PC to the devices you configured and are never sent to PCDilis Software or to any third party.

You are responsible for protecting your Windows account, PC, network, and devices. Do not enter credentials unless you are authorized to use them.

Network connections made by the app

• Monitoring: ping (ICMP), SSH, SNMP, and Windows (WMI) queries go only to the hosts and devices you configure, directly from your PC.
• Trial date check: while the app is in Trial or Free mode, it sends HTTPS HEAD requests to www.google.com, www.cloudflare.com, or www.microsoft.com and reads only the current date from the response header. No personal or app data is included; as with any web request, these services can see your IP address and the app's user agent. Activated paid licenses skip this check.
• License activation (Lemon Squeezy): when you activate a Lemon Squeezy license key, the app sends to Lemon Squeezy the license key and an instance name made of your computer name and a shortened PC ID. When you re-check or deactivate the license in the License dialog, it sends the license key and the instance ID Lemon Squeezy assigned at activation. Lemon Squeezy returns the license status, the purchased product/variant, and the customer name and email of the order; the app stores these locally to show who the license is registered to.

License information and PC ID

Paid licenses (Personal Standard and Personal Pro) are activated either with a Lemon Squeezy license key or with an offline activation code. Offline activation codes are digitally signed and bound to a PC ID.

The PC ID is a one-way hash derived from the Windows machine identifier and an app-specific value. It does not contain your name, user name, or hardware serial numbers, and the original machine identifier cannot be recovered from it. The app shows the PC ID in the License dialog; you only share it with PCDilis Software if you request an offline activation code or a license transfer through support.

Purchases and payments

Purchases are processed by third-party checkout providers such as Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad. Payment information, billing details, tax handling, receipts, order emails, and payment processing are handled by the checkout provider according to its own terms and privacy policy.

PCDilis Software may receive purchase-related information from the checkout provider, such as your name, order email, product purchased, order number, license key status, refund status, and related transaction information needed for licensing, support, accounting, fraud prevention, and legal compliance.

PCDilis Software does not directly process or store your payment card details.

Microsoft Store

If you install the Software from the Microsoft Store, Microsoft handles the download, installation, and updates, and may process information about you and your device under the Microsoft Privacy Statement. PCDilis Software may receive aggregated, non-identifying statistics from Microsoft (for example install counts, ratings, and crash summaries) through the Microsoft Partner Center.

Support communications

If you contact support through the support form, we receive and store the information you choose to send, such as:

• your name and email address;
• your order number or order email;
• your PC ID (for offline activation or license transfer);
• your app version and Windows version;
• screenshots, logs, or error messages;
• details about your device type, configuration, network, NAS, server, or storage issue.

Please do not send passwords, private keys, or other unnecessary credentials or sensitive files when contacting support.

Website information

When you visit the PCDilis Software website, the web hosting provider processes basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps, and referrer, for operation and security.

The website uses Matomo web analytics, hosted on PCDilis Software's own server (not a third-party analytics service), to understand which pages are visited. The support form sends the information you enter to PCDilis Software by email.

Cookies

Matomo may set first-party cookies to recognize repeat visits. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time; the website works without them. Checkout pages provided by Lemon Squeezy or Gumroad may use cookies according to their own policies.

How information is used

Information is used to:

• provide and operate the Software and enable licensed features;
• activate, validate, and transfer licenses;
• respond to support requests and investigate bugs or technical issues;
• process refunds or order-related questions;
• maintain security and prevent misuse, fraud, or license abuse;
• improve the website and the Software;
• comply with legal, tax, accounting, and business obligations.

Sharing of information

PCDilis Software does not sell personal data.

Information is shared only with service providers when needed to operate the website, process purchases, deliver and validate licenses, provide support, host email, maintain security, or comply with legal obligations. Examples include the web hosting provider, email provider, Lemon Squeezy, Gumroad, Microsoft (for Microsoft Store distribution), and tax/accounting tools.

Data retention

Data stored by the app remains on your PC until you delete it. Uninstalling the app does not automatically remove your settings, so a reinstall keeps them; to remove everything, delete the %APPDATA%\server_nas_monitor folder and the saved passwords in Windows Credential Manager.

Support emails and order-related records are retained as long as needed for support, licensing, accounting, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and business records.

Security

Reasonable efforts are made to protect information handled by PCDilis Software. However, no software, website, email system, device, or network can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

You are responsible for securing your own PC, Windows account, network, NAS devices, servers, credentials, and backups.

Your rights

Depending on your location (including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation), you may have the right to request access to, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data, and to object to its processing. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

To make a privacy-related request, use the support form. Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, tax, accounting, fraud prevention, or security reasons.

Children

Server Ping & Storage Monitor is not intended for children. The Software and product website are intended for users who are old enough to enter into a software license agreement and make software purchasing decisions.

International use

PCDilis Software is based in Romania (European Union). Service providers such as checkout providers, Microsoft, and email providers may process information in other countries according to their own infrastructure and policies.

Changes to this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. The current version is always available on this page, and the "Last updated" date shows when it last changed.
